The internet is full of unique-looking pets, but one cat is really turning heads: she’s so big that people think she’s a dog — and she’s still growing!
That cat is a Maine Coon named Kefir, who lives with his owner Yulia Minina in Stary Oskol, Russia.
When Yulia adopted the cat, he was just a tiny kitten — she never imagined how huge he’d end up being:

Maine Coons are one of the biggest breeds of cats, often weighing up to 20 pounds. But even for his breed, Kefir is already exceptionally large.
According to SWNS, Kefir is now 12.5kg, or over 27 pounds. His growth certainly took his owner by surprise: “I could not even think that an ordinary baby can become so big,” she said.

What’s even more shocking is that Kefir still has even more growing left to do: “It’s normal for Maine Coons to keep growing up until they are 3 years old,” Yulia told Bored Panda, saying the cat was currently 1 year and 9 months old.
Since it’s so unheard of to have a cat this big, most people think Kefir is a dog: “It’s funny how others react when they see the cat because it is huge,” Yulina said. “Many people think that it’s a dog at first.”

But don’t let his size intimidate you: Kefir is one well-behaved cat. “He not only grew up big in appearance, he is also very smart and always behaves calmly,” Yulina told SWNS.
“The look is generally like that of a person, and Kefir has a formidable appearance, but he is a very affectionate and modest child,” she said.
“When friends and acquaintances come to the house — all the attention is on him and he willingly allows himself to be stroked.”
