Unique and picturesque corn, with up to seven colors like the rainbow.

The rainbow-colored corn called Glᴀss Gem has been famous around the world since 2010. The beautiful color of this special corn makes everyone extremely fond of it.

The story of the seven-color corn originates from a farmer living in Oklahoma, USA named Carl Barnes. Barnes initially set out to experiment with growing old Native American corn seeds, and in the process, he isolated variants consistent with traditional corn lost to native tribes. He then reintroduced those corn varieties to the tribal elders and helped them rediscover part of their culinary idenтιтy.

Not stopping there, Mr. Carl Barnes began to combine heirloom Native American seeds with other colorful corn kernels from the American Southwest. The combination of these different corn kernels has resulted in colorful corns known as Glᴀss Gems.

In 1995, Barnes sent his special corn seed to a younger farmer named Greg Schoen, and Schoen shared it with another farmer named Bill McDorman, who was also pᴀssionate about farming. Bill McDorman said, he was so surprised to see the results are such beautiful corns Currently, many stores in the US sell packets of Glᴀss Gem corn seeds for between $2 and $40 per shipment, depending on how many seeds the buyer requires.

Guppy corn seeds take several months to grow. Corn seed stores advise growers to sow the seeds in rows about 80cm apart and use 3 to 4 seeds in each cluster. Plants need to be planted in a sunny, warm place and not too strong wind. Rainbow corn plants can grow up to nearly 3 m tall, and when the cobs are young, the seeds will be mostly white before developing color. So growers please wait patiently.

Corn can be harvested after 4 months of sowing. When the corn husks turn yellow and dry, the inner cobs reach their best color. This type of corn is dried and used by many people to decorate their homes because of its beautiful color. Seven-color corn can also be used to make sweet and salty popcorn at will. It can also be ground to make cornmeal. Cornmeal stored in an airтιԍнт container will keep in the refrigerator for about a year. This cornstarch can be used to make a variety of baked goods.
