Michael is so grateful for the emotional support and companionship he got from Gus.“Your instinct when you have a chronic illness is to sometimes isolate and make your world as small as possible so you don’t have much to deal with, but a dog will open you up,” Michael shared.

They often took their morning walks in Central Park, where so many people stopped to talk to them.Michael joked though that the reason people stopped them so much was not that they wanted to talk to the famous actor. Nope, they wanted to talk to Gus.

Michael and his family have such great memories of Gus. This particular one stood out.In 2018, Michael had to have spinal surgery. The doctors removed a tumor from his spinal cord and he had to relearn how to walk. He had to come home in a wheelchair.Do you know who was waiting for him when he get home? That’s right. It was Gus.
