“Hey Blue, welcome to your new home!” Michael wrote. Blue arrived in their lives almost two years after his beloved companion pᴀssed away.

Gus, his beloved dog, has been with Michael J. Fox for more than a decade until he pᴀssed away in 2021 at the age of 12.He was the “second son” and “fifth child” that provided Michael with the support he needed especially with his health struggles. 

If you didn’t know, Michael J. Fox was diagnosed in 1991 with Parkinson’s Disease at the young age of 29.It continues to be a constant struggle for the retired actor where day-to-day activities are still hard to perform.

It’s okay, though, because he has the love and support of his family with him. Plus he has Gus. 

“I didn’t rescue Gus. You can argue that he rescued me, but he’d be too modest to make that claim. You know that no matter your situation, no matter what you feel, this animal is with you and is connected to you, and you feel,” Michael J. Fox said.

Michael is so grateful for the emotional support and companionship he got from Gus.“Your instinct when you have a chronic illness is to sometimes isolate and make your world as small as possible so you don’t have much to deal with, but a dog will open you up,” Michael shared.

They often took their morning walks in Central Park, where so many people stopped to talk to them.Michael joked though that the reason people stopped them so much was not that they wanted to talk to the famous actor. Nope, they wanted to talk to Gus.

Michael and his family have such great memories of Gus. This particular one stood out.In 2018, Michael had to have spinal surgery. The doctors removed a tumor from his spinal cord and he had to relearn how to walk. He had to come home in a wheelchair.Do you know who was waiting for him when he get home?That’s right. It was Gus. 

“He kind of circles the wheelchair with this low kind of woof woof, woof woof, and sat in front of the wheelchair right in front of me, and looked at me, and I said, ‘It’s going to be okay,’ ” Michael recalled.

It is devastating to any fur parent when their fur baby pᴀsses away.That’s why it’s so important to share great memories with them while they’re still alive. 

Gus’ pᴀssing hurts but it’s comforting to know that Michael was loved by Gus and Gus loved Michael.

Now, Michael is ready to share the love he had for Gus with another dog.It looks like Michael is not the only one who’s ready to love Blue. The post has received more than 700k hearts and more than 7k comments. 

This puppy is already loved by so many people he hasn’t even met yet. Many people also love how much he resembles the pup in Back to the Future, Einstein.That’s the way it is. You give love, you get love.
