A SECRET memo captured in a recently unearthed image could hold the key to solving the Roswell crash riddle nearly 70 years ago, UFO hunters claim.
The pHΰΉΟograph shows General Roger Ramey in his office at Fort Worth Army Air Field.
The general is holding a memo and crouching over debris he claimed was from the Roswell crash, reportsΒ Express Online.
Now UFO hunters are hoping the text in the memoΒ could finally unlock the mystery.
Just hours before the pictures were taken, the Roswell Army Air Field media officer sent out the infamous press release claiming the remains of a crashed flying saucer had been found.
But the following day the statement was retracted and officials said it was simply a damaged US Air Force weather balloon.
The Roswell incident is one of the mostΒ discussed and controversial UFO theories in history.
UFO researcher David Rudiak has used modern technology to zoom in on the text and claims to be able to read the words.
Alejandro Rojas, a presenter for Open Minds Radio, said: βHe says it is clear that there is a reference to a disc and believes he can also make out a portion of a sentence that reads βand the victims of the wreckβ.Β Rudiak says this proves that a disc-shaped craft was recovered.
βHowever, perhaps more startling, he says it also corroborates the claims that extraterrestrial bodies were recovered from that wreck.β
Many Nasa astronauts thinkΒ extraterrestrials are realΒ and haveΒ been in touch with humanityΒ for a long time.
At least four have expressed beliefs about theΒ existence of extraterrestrials.
