Gemballa Brings Avalanche Back With 809-HP 911 Turbo

The porsche 911 Turbo may not be as hardcore or visceral as the compeтιтion from Ferrari or Lamborghini, or even from one of its own stable mates – the porsche 911 GT3. But there’s one thing the current 911 Turbo is, and that’s fast. Gemballa, the iconic tuning company from Germany, though, doesn’t think the 911 Turbo is fast enough and has worked its magic on the sports car.

Bringing back the “avalance” moniker from Gemballa’s modified version of the porsche 930 Turbo from 1985, the tuners latest offering is the third-generation in the avalanche lineup and might be one of the quickest cars in the world. The avalanche is built on a stock 911 Turbo, which is no slouch thanks to its 3.8-liter flat six that generates 540 horsepower and 523 pound-feet of torque. in its stock guise, the 911 Turbo can sprint to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds.

The latest Gemballa avalanche, if it could, would laugh in a stock 911 Turbo’s face. power is up to 808 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. That is surely enough to get the sports car’s top speed over the 199 mph hump and, if the cars’ tires are up for the task, drop its zero to 60 mph time.

Other than the ridiculous power figures, Gemballa didn’t provide any more information on the car, which is a shame. What doesn’t need any explanation, though, is the radical body kit. Gemballa, which specializes in turning high-end sports cars and supercars into weapons for the road, is iconic for its interesting takes on porsches, McLarens, and the Mercedes-Benz sLR McLaren. The purple rendering of the avalanche above indicates that Gemballa has no interest in toning its kits down.

To match the car’s bump in performance, there are a host of new body parts including: a front end, a hood, wheels, a rear end, and an exhaust kit. Oh yeah, there’s also a mᴀssive rear wing that can be used as shelter in case of inclement weather.

The avalanche, along with the Gemballa GTR 780 eVO-R, which should be another insane-looking machine that’s based on a high-performance sports car, are set to be unveiled at next month’s Geneva Motor show. Gemballa boss steffen Korbach also stated that the cars would be used to break some records. While Geneva is the go-to place for automakers to unveil the best of the best, we’re pretty sure the avalanche will be one of the standouts from the show.
