Have you ever felt like you were being watched? Perhaps by a person, an animal, or even a ghost? Well, what if we told you that it could be a rock that is following you? That’s right, in the Peak District of Derbyshire, England, there are rocks with strange frosty eyes that seem to be watching your every move.

These rocks, known as “Derbyshire Gritstone,” are unique to the area and are said to have been formed during the Carboniferous period, around 350 million years ago. They are made up of sand and pebbles that were compacted together over time to form solid rock.

A Peak District pH๏τographer trying to capture the perfect sH๏τ of the sunrise suddenly had the strange feeling he was being watched…

Leigh Pugh was hoping to get a picture on Stanton Moor Edge, near Birchover. However, it was too cloudy to get a proper pH๏τo and that is when the pH๏τographer had the distinct feeling he was being watched.

He then spotted the bizarre frost formation – resembling a fish’s or perhaps a dragon’s head – shaped into a rock.

Mr Pugh, of Darley Dale, said: “As I turned around to head back I noticed it looking at me – I couldn’t believe how lifelike it was with the thick layer of frost.”

The pH๏τographer said he had never seen anything like it before, but he was just at the right place at the right time and the incredible discovery compensated for the disappointment incurred from the sunrise pH๏τo not being made possible.
